Cover Story: More than 70% of the people in India depend on wage labour for their livelihood. Of this percent large majority of them are employed in the unorganized sector in both farm and non-farm activities in rural and urban areas. Most of them are illiterate, low or unskilled, low paid and have poor access to resources and information. But this force contributes to more than 60% of India’s GDP.
